Alicia Seiger

Alicia Seiger, Lecturer, Stanford Law School, Managing Director, Stanford Clean Energy Finance Initiative & Center for Energy Policy and Finance, Co-Founder Stanford Professionals in Energy

Alicia Seiger is Deputy Director of the Stanford Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance, a joint initiative of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Law School. Alicia leads the center’s work to develop and deploy financial innovations for philanthropic and long-term sources of capital to catalyze a rapid decarbonization of the global economy.

A serial entrepreneur and pioneer of new business models, Alicia was at the forefront of the web advertising and carbon offset industries before pursuing solutions in the evolving area of climate finance. Alicia has spent over a decade designing and executing climate and energy strategies for businesses, foundations, investors, and NGOs. She has served on the management teams of multiple startups, including at TerraPass, a pioneer of the US carbon offset market, and Flycast Communications, one of the first web advertising networks.

Alicia serves on the boards of Ceres and PRIME Coalition. She is the co-founder and co-President of Stanford Professionals in Energy (SPIE), a global platform for Stanford alumni to engage on energy topics. She is also an advisor to the Aligned Intermediary and Cyclotron Road. She holds a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she also worked as a case writer for the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, and a BA in Environmental Policy and Cultural Anthropology from Duke University. A native of Silicon Valley, Alicia lives in Menlo Park with her husband and two daughters.
